UNICEF says that international adoption of Haitian children should only be "last resort" Abused children
Orphans and Neglected Children in Haiti following the devastating earthquake of January 12 should be adopted abroad only as a last resort, as claimed on Tuesday the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). United States has announced that temporarily allow the entry of orphans in Haiti for medical care, as reported yesterday by the Homeland Security secretary, Janet Napolitano. This policy will apply case by case basis for children who are legally confirming orphans eligible for adoption in another country by the Haitian government and are adopted by U.S. citizens.
